Get Set FAQ's

1. I read about WestJet’s partners in my Get Set notifications, but now I need to book a flight using my AIR MILES reward miles. How do I do this?

AIR MILES bookings need to be done through AIR MILES directly. Please contact them at www.airmiles.ca or by calling 1-888-247-6453.

If you require additional assistance, please phone our Super Sales Center at 1-800-538-5696.

2. I received a Get Set notification with fares which I can’t find on your website. Why does this happen?

Get Set notifications advertise the lowest available fare in our system, which is usually a seat sale fare. These fares tend to sell out very quickly, and once they do, the price goes up to the next highest fare level. WestJet has seven fare levels, and the closer to the date of the flight, the more likely it is the lower fare levels are sold out. If you are flexible in your travel dates, the lower fare could be available on a different date.

If you require any further assistance, please call our Sales Super Centre at 1-800-538-5696.

3. My Get Set dashboard looks different from the last time I viewed it. What can you tell me about this new version of Get Set?

We recently upgraded the Get Set application to version 2.0. Now more than ever our guests can be the first to know about great deals, vacation packages and partner offers in real time, as they happen!

Some of the latest features on Get Set are:

  1. Choose between receiving a pop-up alert on your desktop, or just an icon to appear in the task bar of your screens, when Get Set sends out an announcement.
  2. Select what type of audio clip plays when you receive an alert.
  3. When you click “Book now” the flights you were viewing will populate in the booking engine.
  4. Make changes to your profile with your GET READY settings right in Get Set – not in a separate window.

Your version of Get Set should have automatically updated itself, without requiring you to take any action at your end.

4. I would like to customize my profile, as well as add new home airports and alerts. How can I do this?

If you click the GET READY tab in Get Set, you'll see a link near the top of the page to EDIT your MY SETTINGS. This will bring you to a web page where you can specify which home airports you would like to get prices from. Up to 3 home airports can be selected.

You may also edit your other personal settings and alerts in this EDIT page.

Be sure to click the SAVE SETTINGS button.

5. I am trying to edit or add to my Get Set profile and alerts, but I can only see a blank screen or an “unauthorized” message when I click on the “GET READY” button. What should I do?

This problem typically occurs as a result of anti-virus software blocking Get Set's attempts to interact with the internet.  However, we do not recommend deactivating your anti-virus software (even temporarily) in order to modify your profile.

Our latest release of Get Set 2.0 should alleviate this situation as it no longer requires a web browser to modify your settings.

However, if you are still unable to make changes to your profile, try right clicking on Get Set icon at the bottom right corner of your screen and selecting ‘close’. Reopen the application and you should see a new Get Set window where you click on “GET READY” to make your changes.

6. Can I install the Get Set application on my Mac?

Yes, you can install a Mac version of the application. Please note however that unfortunately, Get Set is not compatible with some installations for Mac OS X. We are currently looking for a fix to this problem.

In the meantime, an alternative you can also sign up for JetMail (http://c1dsp.westjet.com/guest/jetMailInfo.jsp) to receive similar alerts from WestJet through email.

7. After I download the GET SET file, it will not mount so the application can then be installed. What do I need to do?

On certain desktop systems, the installer can sometimes conflict with applications you already have installed, or certain settings within Windows itself.

You will need a ZIP file which can be provided to you by sending a us a support request. Copy the file to your hard drive then, simply open the folder and run Get Set.  The application should pop-up almost immediately at that point.

You will receive full instructions for the ZIP file when it is sent to you, however if you have any issues with the ZIP file or the instructions; please don't hesitate to contact the above email address for further assistance.
